CharaCteristiCs of phenogroups of the a blood group system in Cattle of beef breeds**
نویسنده
چکیده
phenotypes of four beef breeds (Charolais, hereford, limousin and piemontese) were determined based on the transmission of antigens from parents to offspring in the a blood group system of cattle. the effective number of alleles per locus (e) and the degree of heterozygosity (h) were calculated for different breeds based on the frequency of these phenogroups. most a-phenogrups (18) were found in limousin cattle and least in Charolais and hereford cattle (12). a-phenogroups with the Z’ antigen, especially the a1Z’ phenogroup were characteristic of the breeds studied. the greatest variation in this blood group system was found in the limousin breed (e and h values of 9.7 and 0.8977, respectively) and the smallest variation in the hereford breed (7.0 and 0.8578, respectively). the identification of a-phenogroups and confirmation of the fact that the d antigen is only found in one phenogroup with the plb-8 antigen could be used for parentage verification of cattle of beef breeds.

This study was an attempt to devise productive orientations of cattle herds in eastern high plains of Algeria. In this regard, 165 farms randomly identified were investigated. The selection of breeders was based to existence of cattle on the farm, and the farmer proposed to investigation must have at least two cows. The approach taken was to identify all systems adopted by farmers in a region t...

This study was performed to determine the digital expression profile of different genes expressed in Holstein and Cholistani breeds as well as to evaluate the performance of predicted proteins derived from differentially expressed genes between these two breeds using RNA-Seq data. For this purpose, the whole mRNA sequence for a blood sample of American Holstein and Pakistani Cholistani cattle p...

متن کاملThe use of indigenous cattle in terminal cross-breeding to improve beef cattle production in Sub-Saharan Africa
The role indigenous livestock can play in Africa’s Livestock Revolution is not always recognized. In many parts of Africa pure breeding with indigenous breeds is the only viable production strategy because of adverse climatic and nutritional conditions. However, there are scenarios where the higher demands of exotic breeds and their cross-breds can be met. This article discusses the possibility...

Pasteurellosis is one of the important economic diseases in ruminants, especially in cows and buffaloes. It is caused by Pasteurella multocida and occasionally by Mannheimia haemolytica. The aim of this study was to isolate Pasteurella multocida from lungs with probable mentioned bacterial agents in cows and buffaloes in Urmia's slaughter house. 240 lung samples over a period of 12 months were ...
